Issue/Request:
An Ordinance authorizing the execution of an agreement by and between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Walter P. Moore and Associates, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $171,000.00 for Professional Engineering Services for Main Street Improvements from Chipman Road to Commerce Drive, and authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
· Public Works Staff recommends a sole source agreement with Walter P. Moore and Associates, Inc. for professional engineering services in support of the NW Main Street Improvement Project from NW Chipman to Commerce Drive.
· Walter P. Moore and Associates, Inc. was previously selected for the engineering services required for the NW Commerce Drive Street Improvement Project by Qualification Based Selection as part of RFQ No. 2017-305, which overlaps the NW Main Street project.
· Walter P. Moore has unique experience, knowledge, and technical data of the Main Street project area by completing work that can be incorporated into the Main Street Improvement Project
· Changing the engineering services provider for the Main Street from Chipman Road to Commerce Drive project would lead to inefficiencies and loss of work already completed and paid for with the NW Commerce Drive Street Improvement project.
· This project is funded from the License (Excise) Tax fund.
