Presentation of the Economic Development Organization Strategic Recommendations
Key Issues:
The attached report provides strategic recommendations for the future of Economic Development in Lee's Summit. The report builds upon the previously completed "Best Practices for Economic Development Organizations" and Economic Development Organization Design Sprint and Stakeholder Engagement session.
Background:
In October of 2022, the City of Lee's Summit issued a Request for Proposals to identify and engage a professional consulting firm to complete a report of best practices for a successful EDO. Multiple firms submitted proposals and in January 2023 TPMA was selected to prepare the report.
On May 2, 2023 the "Best Practices for Economic Development Organizations" report was presented to the City Council.
In July of 2023 TPMA was further engaged to facilitate a stakeholder engagement session with the Community. On July 18, 2023 that stakeholder engagement session was held at the Missouri Innovation Campus.
