Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving a State Block Grant Agreement for eligible preliminary project costs towards the preparation of the Runway 11-29, Taxiway Bravo and Taxiway Charlie Reseal, Joint Seal and Remarking project for the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission in the amount of $59,000.00 and authorizing the Mayor to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
· The Commission has agreed to award funds to the City with the understanding that such funds will be used for a project pursuant to this State Block Grant Agreement.
· The purpose of this agreement is to provide financial assistance to the City under the State Block Grant Program for the Runway 11-29, Taxiway Bravo and Taxiway Charlie Reseal, Joint Seal and Remarking project.
· The project period shall be from the date of the execution by the commission to December 31, 2024.
· The initial amount of this grant is not to exceed $59,000 for eligible preliminary project costs.
· The amount of this grant represents 100% of eligible project costs.
· This grant shall expire and the Commission shall not be obligated to pay any part of the costs of the project unless this grant Agreement has been executed by the City on or before March 30, 2023, or such subsequent date as may be prescribed in writing by the Commission.
