Issue/Request:
An Ordinance authorizing the execution of a Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Airport Rescue State Block Grant Agreement by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, granting federal funds in the amount of $59,000 for airport operational and maintenance expenses and authorizing the Mayor to execute an agreement for the same.

Key Issues:
· The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (“Commission”) has agreed to award funds to the City ("Sponsor") with the understanding that such funds will be used for airport operational and maintenance expenses in accordance with the limitations prescribed to this Airport Rescue State Block Grant Agreement (“Agreement”).
· The purpose of this agreement is to provide financial assistance to the Sponsor under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP Act).
· The project period shall be from the date of the execution by the commission to August 13, 2025.
· The initial amount of this grant is not to exceed $59,000 for eligible costs.
· This grant shall expire and the Commission shall not be obligated to pay any part of the costs of the project unless this grant Agreement has been executed by the Sponsor on or before February 27, 2023 or such subsequent date as may be prescribed in writing by the Commission.
