Title

An Ordinance changing the name of a street from SE Jud Street to SE Kings Tree Drive, the street stub along SE Cobey Creek Drive located between SE David Road and SE Gillette Street in the Cobey Creek residential subdivision all within the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri. (CEDC 8/10/22)

Body

Issue/Request:

The applicant proposes to change the name of an existing street stub from SE Jud St to SE Kings Tree Dr in the Cobey Creek subdivision.  The existing street name was established by the original developer of the subdivision as part of Cobey Creek, 1st Plat.  The name has a familial connection to the original developer.  The subdivision has since changed hands and is under control of the applicant, who desires a different name for the subject street.  There are no lots currently addressed using the existing street name, so the proposed street name change impacts no property owner outside of the applicant.  Staff has no objections to the street name change.

Proposed Motion:  I move to direct staff to present an Ordinance for consideration by the City Council to approve Appl. #PL2022-231 - STREET NAME CHANGE - proposed change from SE Jud Rd to SE Kings Tree Dr; Clayton Properties Group, Inc., applicant.

Background:

The street name change process as outlined under UDO Section 2.430 calls for an application to come before the CEDC in cases where both the affected property owner(s), in this case the applicant, and city staff agree to the street name change.  If the change is also agreeable to the CEDC, staff is then directed to prepare an ordinance for consideration of the change by the City Council.
