Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving an Intergovernmental agreement between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and the Federal Aviation Administration for the release and sale of Airport property at the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Key Issues:
· Airport property is required in association with the NE Colbern Road project for the construction of an ADA accessible curb ramp.
· Airport property was used during the construction of the NW Lee’s Summit Road project.
· A Release and Sale of Airport Property Agreement is required from the Federal Aviation Administration to release the Airport property.
· Due to the negligible impact to the Airport, there is no cost associated with the release of these properties.
· The Airport Layout Plan and Airport Exhibit A Property Map will be updated as required during the Phase 2 Airport Master Plan Update project currently underway.
Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to City Council approval of an Ordinance approving an Intergovernmental agreement between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and the Federal Aviation Administration for the release and sale of Airport property at the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Background:
During the design of the NE Colbern Rd project, NE Douglas St to NW Blue Pkwy, it was determined that a small amount of permanent right-of-way is needed for the construction of an ADA ramp on the NE corner of Douglas and Colbern.
