Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving a Fixed Base Operator agreement between Meisinger Aviation LLC (Hereinafter "Operator") and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri (Hereinafter "City") to rent office space to perform aircraft sales and aircraft brokering at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City. Key Issues:
The Airport has received a request from Meisinger Aviation LLC to renew their FBO Agreement to continue performing aircraft sales and aircraft brokering services at Lee’s Summit Airport.
Proposed City Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance approving a Fixed Base Operator agreement between Meisinger Aviation LLC (Hereinafter "Operator") and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri (Hereinafter "City") to rent office space to perform aircraft sales and aircraft brokering at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving a Fixed Base Operator agreement between Meisinger Aviation LLC (Hereinafter "Operator") and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri (Hereinafter "City") to rent office space to perform aircraft sales and aircraft brokering at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
Background:
Meisinger Aviation has been in business over 60 years and is based in Chesterfield MO. Meisinger provides a variety of Aviation services including aircraft sales, brokering, aircraft management and maintenance.
Impact/Analysis:
The Airport actively markets for aviation service providers. The addition of an organization engaged in Aircraft Sales at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport provides service not only to the based tenants but draws transient business to the airport that would not normally have a reason to come to our airport. This can result in additional fuel sales, new based tenants and increased temporary storage of Aircraft for sale. Meisinger Aviation will be renting office space located in the Administration building that will generate $179.00 per month or $2,148.00 per year. The Airport expects to rental the Operator additional hangar space on a temporary basis which will increase revenues from generated from the Operators presence on the Airport.
