Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving Modification No. 1 to an On-Call Agreement for Professional Land Surveying Services (RFQ No. 2020-015-2) by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Wilson & Company, Inc. for professional land surveying services for the East Prairie Lee Interceptor Sewer Upgrade Project for a not-to-exceed amount of $60,000.00, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement of the same.
Key Issues:
• Pursuant to Ordinance No. 8745, the City entered into an On-Call Agreement for Professional Land Surveying Services (RFQ No. 2020-015-1) with Wilson & Company, Inc. This modification authorizes services in accordance with the existing on-call agreement.
• The East Prairie Lee Interceptor Sewer Upgrade Project was authorized as part of the FY2021 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)
• The project will be funded from the Sewer Construction Fund.
• The survey work is necessary to complete construction of the project, which will be designed in-house.
Proposed City Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance approving Modification No. 1 to an On-Call Agreement for Professional Land Surveying Services (RFQ No. 2020-015-2) by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Wilson & Company, Inc. for professional land surveying services for the East Prairie Lee Interceptor Sewer Upgrade Project for a not-to-exceed amount of $60,000.00, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement of the same.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption an Ordinance approving Modification No. 1 to an On-Call Agreement for Professional Land Surveying Services (RFQ No. 2020-015-2) by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Wilson & Company, Inc. for professional land surveying services for the East Prairie Lee Interceptor Sewer Upgrade Project for a not-to-exceed amount of $60,000.00, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement of the same.
Background:
The City of Lee's Summit is beginning the design process for improvements to the existing East Prairie Lee Interceptor Sewer. Portions of the interceptor require upsizing to accommodate additional flow produced by new development at the top of the drainage basin. These improvements will also allow for the decommissioning of the HCA Excess Flow Holding Basin. The East Prairie Lee Interceptor Sewer Upgrade Project is identified in the FY2021 Capital Improvement Plan. The improvements will be designed by city staff. Prior to the start of design, survey crews will collect data along the existing interceptor in order to identify property lines, right-of-way, and easements and collect information about existing utility lines, trees, and topographic features.
Impact/Analysis:
The survey is required for city staff to begin design of the sewer improvements.
