An Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 491-C for the Sampson Road Water Main Replacement (FY19) to Blue Nile Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $552,632.28 and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
? The water mains included in this project will replace existing 4-inch lines with 12-inch lines on SW Sampson Road.
? This project is a continuation of the work to the North along Sampson to Scherer Road completed in 2015.
? The water mains included in this project have exhibited increased break rates in recent years and are now due for replacement.
? In total, approximately 5,000 feet of existing water mains will be replaced.

FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 491-C (FY19) for the Sampson Road Water Main Replacement to Blue Nile Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $552,632.28 and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 491-C (FY19) for the Sampson Road Water Main Replacement to Blue Nile Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $552,632.28 and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Background:
This water main replacement entails performing work in the following area: SW Sampson Road from the existing 12-inch main to SW Hook Road. This construction will complete a critical loop identified in the Water Master Plan and provide a feed for domestic and fire flows to a growing area of Lee's Summit.
