Public Hearing: Proposed FY17 Annual Budget
Key Issues:
On April 25, 2016, the City Manager presented the proposed FY17 Budget. The Finance and Budget Committee reviewed the proposed budget and recommended to the City Council a public hearing on May 19th.
The proposed annual budget for the City of Lee’s Summit in FY17 is $208,419,359. This is the total budget for all funds. The total includes the expenditure budgets within the following funds:
General Fund - $64,397,020
Special Revenue Funds - $16,876,385
Debt Service Funds - $11,127,863
Capital Project Funds - $45,812,629
Enterprise Funds - $56,046,838
Internal Service Funds - $14,158,623
The City Manager will present the key highlights and the expenditures and revenues for these funds.
Proposed City Council Motion:
I move to direct staff to draft an ordinance adopting the proposed fiscal year 2016-2017 annual budget.
Background:
The City Council’s Finance and Budget Committee, the City Manager, and members of the management team have developed the proposed annual budget. Included in this packet is the City Manager’s budget submission letter.
Following the public hearing, an ordinance has been drafted for City Council consideration to approve the FY17 Annual Budget for the City of Lee's Summit
