Title
Progress Update: An Update on Lee's Summit Social Services Emergency Assistance Payments; CDBG-CV Funded
Body
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City was awarded special allocations of CARES Act funding through HUD. The first allocation was approved, passed and adopted by ordinance in July 2020. In January 2021 City Council approved, passed and adopted by ordinance a second substantial amendment to the City’s 2020-21 Annual Action Plan (AAP) to incorporate a second allocation of CDBG-CV funding. With this funding the City allocated a total of $529,472 to Lee's Summit Social Services for Emergency Payment Assistance.
The initial allocation of $187,061 was fully expended within 12 months. This funding benefited 140 unduplicated households within Lee's Summit.
The second allocation of $342,411 is currently underway; within the first 6 months over half of the funding has been expended and has benefited an additional 230 households.
Lee's Summit Social Services will provide an update on their services and be available for questions.
