Why interested: I have worked in several art gallery's and I currently work in a well known gallery downtown. I recently ran for city council in district 4 putting forth that we need more art and ways to display, show, and involving the community. Keeping the arts alive in Lee's summit will help support our up and coming artists and show them ways to have their work seen publicly. I also feel that with my past in sales and art it would help the city make positive visual desisions when it comes to granting art titles or opinions. To keep this visually stimulating to the masses and secure our city looks fine tuned and finished. Helping with this would bring me great joy as art is a passion of mine and helping my city would be an honor.

Other participation: I was a candidate for Lee's summit city council in district 4. While running for office I pushed more for the arts in Lee's Summit. To keep our community beautiful we need to stay aware of the positive effect the arts can have on our city. We can promote visual enhancements such as murals and statues while still understanding they must appeal to the masses. Keeping art in our community will show our youth its importance in daily life and help them in ways of expression by viewing and creating. I have also been active in teaching art in classrooms in the metro area. PTA art projects that I have headed have gone great in over 16 classrooms in the last month.
