An Ordinance authorizing award of Bid No. 2023-059 for the purchase of a fire station alerting system for use by the fire department to Westnet, LLC in the amount of $940,321.14 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into an Agreement for the same by and on behalf of the City. (F&BC 4/1/24)

Body
Issue/Request:
This request is for the purchase and installation of a digital station alerting system for all 7 of the current Lee's Summit fire stations.

Key Issues:
This system allows for more efficient information flow between our dispatch center and our fire operations crews, especially in regard to the initial dispatch alerting and initial call information. This call alerting system allows for efficiencies in process, and it also provides for specific unit notification and conforms to the heart safe best practices within the fire service on call alerting. Both of these enhancements allow for process improvement as well as the physical and mental health benefits to fire crews long term. This also provides a redundant means of call alerting in the event the radio alerting system fails.

Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to City Council for approval of An Ordinance authorizing award of Bid No. 2023-059 for the purchase of a fire station alerting system for use by the fire department to Westnet, LLC in the amount of $940,321.14 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into an Agreement for the same by and on behalf of the City.
