Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the dual award of Bid No. 2024-050 for Concrete Flat Work, Curb Installation, and Street Repair services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to Quality Custom Concepts, Inc. and Hotmer Excavation, LLC and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
Key Issues:
The City's agreement (No. 2024-050) for concrete flat work, curb installation, and street repair services will expire on March 31, 2024. The City solicited Bid No. 2024-050 for concrete flat work, curb installation or Street Repair via its' e-bidding service Public Purchase and through the City's website. Notification was also sent to 256 potential vendors registered in PublicPurchase. 47 potential firms reviewed the online documents for Bid 2024-050.
Upon close of the Bid, January 19, 2024, the Procurement and Contract Services Division received six (6) responsive proposals. Based upon the evaluation of responses, the project evaluation committee recommended dual awarding Bid No. 2024-050 for concrete flat work services for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to Quality Custom Concepts, Inc. and Hotmer Excavation, LLC. The pricing sheet is attached.

FIRST MOTION: I move for a first reading of an Ordinance approving the dual award of Bid No. 2024-050 for Concrete Flat Work, Curb Installation, and Street Repair services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to Quality Custom Concepts, Inc. and Hotmer Excavation, LLC and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving the dual award of Bid No. 2024-050 for Concrete Flat Work, Curb Installation, and Street Repair services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to Quality Custom Concepts, Inc. and Hotmer Excavation, LLC and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
Background:
This contract is used by various departments for routine and emergency maintenance and repair activities related to curb, sidewalk, water and sewer infrastructure that impacts existing public and/or private drives, sidewalks, and curbs. This on-call contract needs to be restored in a timely fashion to maintain good customer relations and to keep facilities in service.
Utilization by the Parks and Recreation Department is project oriented. Primary use of the contract by Parks and Recreation would be for the installation of curbing when required for parking lots. This contract replaces a previous contract used by Parks and Recreation for these purposes.
