Body
Issue/Request:
An Ordinance authorizing the execution of an amendment to an agreement between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri and McCown Gordon Construction Company to set Guaranteed Maximum Price 3 (GMP 3) for the Downtown Market Plaza Project in the amount of $3,065,638.00

Key Issues:
GMP 1 represented the initial package of infrastructure required for the construction of the Downtown Market Plaza.

The GMP 2 bid package encompasses the public items related to the Lee's Summit Downtown Market Plaza project, including the Farmers' Market Building, the canopy structure, and improvements to the plaza area in front of City Hall, including the wickets area, children's' playground, and all landscaping and paving materials.

GMP 3 includes street improvements along Third Street from Green Street to Johnson Street, and on Johnson Street from Third Street to Second Street, including storm and water improvements, sidewalks, and street paving and lighting.

McCown Gordon was selected for Pre-Construction and Construction Manager at Risk services in March 2023.

McCown Gordon advertised the project from 12/29/2023 - 1/19/2024 in the Kansas City Star, Dos Mundos, the KC Hispanic News, and through the Building Connected platform. A link to the bid platform was advertised on the City's website. Contact information was provided in the advertisements for additional access to project information. Both electronic and hard copy submissions were accepted.

18 bids were received among 5 trade areas.

Funding for this portion of the project has been previously allocated to the Green Street Improvements Fund.
