Presentation: Sidewalk Gap Program Update

Key Points:

- Review Sidewalk Gap Program

- Discuss Sidewalk Gap Program Prioritization (Project Location Priorities)

- Present Conceptual FY24/FY25 Annual Sidewalk Gap Program Project

Background:

Sidewalk Gap Program discussions were held with the Public Works Committee (PWC) and City Council in 2020, 2021 and 2022.  The discussions included a presentation of sidewalk inventory, past project prioritization guidance, and an updated methodology for project identification that was supported.  Following the guidance of updated prioritization factors, the FY22-23 Sidewalk Gap Program was developed, bid and awarded in 2023.  Construction was completed.  In preparation of the annual Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and next Sidewalk Gap Program bid package, this presentation will review program history, methodology for prioritization, construction of the first bid package completed in 2023, and conceptual plan for the FY24/25 Sidewalk Gap Program.

The Sidewalk Gap Program is supported by Citizen Surveys, Ignite! Strategic Plan, Capital Improvement Plan, Comprehensive Plan, and Livable Streets Policy.  Funding for the Sidewalk Gap Program was approved by voters in the 2017 CIP Sales Tax and 2023 No-Tax Increase Bond Issues.
