Title

An Ordinance approving the award of Contract No. 2024-001, for Holiday Lighting Service to ICON Event Group, LLC, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City. (F&BC 9/6/23)

Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance approving the award of Contract No. 2024-001, for Holiday Lighting Service to ICON Event Group, LLC, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.

Key Issues:

The City has contracted with vendors for many years to hang holiday lights and garland from the downtown trees, street lights and several buildings.

RFP No. 2024-001 was advertised through the City's e-procurement system Public Purchase with 59 notifications sent out, 6 vendors downloaded the final RFP, and at the close of the submission timeframe one (1) proposer had submitted a responsive proposal.

Background:

The Holiday Lighting in downtown is a tradition and source of community pride.  Years ago it was determined the City would use contracted vendors to perform this service.  Our most recent contract expired creating the need to put this service back out for bid.

Proposed City Council Motion:

FIRST MOTION:  I move for second reading of An Ordinance approving the award of Contract No. 2024-001, for Holiday Lighting Service to ICON Event Group, LLC, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.

SECOND MOTION:  I move for adoption of An Ordinance approving the award of Contract No. 2024-001, for Holiday Lighting Service to ICON Event Group, LLC, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
