An Ordinance authorizing the execution of an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and the Southern Jackson County Fire Protection District for water services for training purposes located at 11010 Milton Thompson Road.
Key Issues:
The City of Lee’s Summit (“City”) provides potable water to the Southern Jackson County Fire Protection District (District) fire station at 11010 Milton Thompson Road.
The City has water line improvements currently under construction near this site which will now make fire flow available in this area.
The District would like to connect to the improved water line and install a hydrant for training purposes at this station.
This is agreed to be an intermittent use which would allow the City to curtail or discontinue service in the event of water shortages, system impairment or reduction in capacity.
This water will be metered and paid for by the district based upon the fees and charges in place at the time of usage.
Due to the nature of the use and the ability to curtail or discontinue service based upon available capacity, no tap fee will be charged for the service connection at this location. All other costs for construction, permitting, and appurtenances will be paid for by the district.
This intergovernmental agreement sets forth the terms for this connection and usage.
