Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance approving Amendment No. 1 to the budget for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2024, as adopted by Ordinance No. 9704, Ordinance No. 9705, Ordinance No. 9706, Ordinance No. 9707, and Ordinance No. 9708, by amending the Pay and Classification Plan for the City and Full Time Equivalencies for the City.

Key Issues:

- Development Services is requesting to reclassify the department's Administration Manager to elevate the position to Assistant Director of Grants and Administration. The reclassification better reflects the scope and duties of the role, which will be responsible for the department's budget, support services, grants and business license program. The reclassification does not result in additional Full Time Equivalents (FTEs) and will be funded via other savings in the department's budget.

- Police is requesting a change to its FTE allocation to allow for the hiring of either an Evidence and Property Tech I or an Evidence and Property Tech II. This change will provide greater flexibility to Police when hiring as well as provide a potential career ladder option. The change does not increase the total FTE count of Police and does not have any budgetary impact.

Proposed Committee Motion:

I move to recommend to City Council approval of an Ordinance approving Amendment No.
