An Ordinance authorizing the purchase of certain public safety radio equipment to enhance redundant capabilities between the police and fire department dispatch centers from Motorola Solutions, INC. in the amount of $228,255.00 and ratifying the city managers execution of the same for all related and necessary documents. (F&BC 6/5/23)

Body
Issue/Request:
This request will significantly enhance the redundant capabilities between the police and fire dispatch centers, allowing for a seamless ability for the fire department to be fully functional if operating out of the police dispatch center if the need should arise. The goal for this compatibility is to provide a fully functional redundant site for the fire dispatch center to operate from in case the primary fire dispatch center should need to be evacuated or relocated for any such situation as could arise. This transition is possible today, however is not seamless or functional as best practices prescribe.

Key Issues:
Interoperability between the two dispatch centers is below standard and results in certain vulnerabilities, which this solution will eliminate.

Proposed City Council Motion:
I move to approve an Ordinance authorizing the purchase of certain public safety radio equipment to enhance redundant capabilities between the police and fire department dispatch centers from Motorola Solutions, INC> in the amount of $228,255.00 and ratifying the City Managers execution of the same for all related and necessary documents.
