An Ordinance approving a fixed base operator agreement between Rebel Aviation and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri to rent office and hangar space to perform Flight Training, Aircraft Rental, Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection Services at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Key Issues:
The Airport has received a request from Rebel Aviation to renew their FBO Agreement for an additional 2 years to continue performing Flight Training, Aircraft Rental, Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection Services at Lee’s Summit Airport.

FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance approving a fixed base operator agreement between Rebel Aviation and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri to rent office and hangar space to perform Flight Training, Aircraft Rental, Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection Services at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving a fixed base operator agreement between Rebel Aviation and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri to rent office and hangar space to perform Flight Training, Aircraft Rental, Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection Services at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Background:
Rebel Aviation has been operating at the Lee's Summit Airport since 2017. The FBO rents an office located in the administration building and a 60'x60' hangar. Rebel Aviation also operates a flight school, at the Roosterville Airport located in Liberty, MO.
Impact/Analysis:
Flight School operations not only provide additional revenues for the Airport in the way of fuel sales and hangar rental, but also provide the potential hangar tenants from students who in the future who decide to purchase their own aircraft and need hangar space to store their aircraft. This agreement will generate $30,900 in annual rent in addition to fuel sales.
