Background:
The Schematic Design phase of the project represents the preliminary design and illustrates the scale and relationships of the project components. Several alternatives are analyzed to define the overall character of the completed project. General space allocations are determined and rough construction drawings are prepared, including preliminary site plans, preliminary building plans, sections, and elevations. This phase of the project represents approximately 25% plan preparation and is followed by the Design Development phase. Plan details are further refined during each subsequent design phase, with final material and systems selection occurring later in the project.
Impact/Analysis:
This presentation reviews the Schematic Design of the project and forms the basis for the next phase of the design process.
