An Ordinance approving Change Order No. 8 to the agreement with Amino Bros. Co., Inc. for the Browning Street Extension - Browning St. to Hamblen Rd. Project No. 568-323-78, for an increase of $76,579.01 for a revised agreement amount of $3,642,897.88 and to increase the project timeline by 5 days, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
• The City had previously entered into an agreement with Amino Bros. Co., Inc. for Project No. 568-323-78, Browning Street Extension - Browning St. to Hamblen Rd. Project ("Project"), being undertaken by the City’s Public Works Department.
• Pursuant to Section 8.2 of the City Procurement Policy, Change Orders 1 through 7 were approved administratively.
• The City desires to modify the Base agreement, as amended, to adjust the contract price and to increase contract time to 183 days due to additional paving, site work, fencing, underdrain, excavation and haul off to complete the work.

Project No. 568-323-78, for an increase of $76,579.01 for a revised agreement amount of $3,642,897.88 and to increase the project timeline by 5 days, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.

Project No. 568-323-78, for an increase of $76,579.01 for a revised agreement amount of $3,642,897.88 and to increase the project timeline by 5 days, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Background:
This Change Order will adjust the contract price and time to perform the work. In accordance with Section 8.2.1 of the City's Procurement Policy, changes (i) exceeding ten percent (10%) of the original contract, (ii)any single change order for an increase of $75,000.00 or more shall be approved by the City Council.
Change Order No. 1 was issued to process the contract price change due to the fuel price index adjustment for the unclassified excavation completed in August, 2022.
Presented on Change Order No. 2, the contract price was adjusted to compensate the contractor for removal of a light pole and power pole that were in conflict with the proposed water line.
As presented on Change Order No. 3, additional costs were incurred due to the revisions made to Water Line plan Sheet 56, four additional vertical water line bends are necessary to avoid a conflict with an existing sanitary lateral line and additional contract time.
Change Order No. 4 was necessary to change the contract price due to the fuel price index adjustment for the unclassified excavation completed in September, 2022.
As presented on Change Order No. 5, a change to the contract price was made to include costs necessary for a redesigned driveway, water main repairs, and water service extensions including reconnects.
Change Order No. 6 addresses the necessity to increase the contract price for costs incurred to relocate a power line, relocate a section of sewer main, relocate three storm drain pipes, grade ditch and modify field inlet, fuel price indexing adjustments, and to add days.
An adjustment to the contract price was made with Change Order No. 7 for additional costs to add silt socks for erosion control, Fuel Price Index Adjustment, to relocate storm structure I-11, to extend 6" underdrain pipes, and added quantities.
Change Order 8 addresses the need to change the contract price due to additional chain link fence and gates, silt socks, driveway pavement, saw-cutting, removals, survey staking, underdrain, sign post, and fuel price index adjustments.
