Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and the Lee's Summit R-7 School District for the Meet Me in the Park Event and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Key Issues:
The City of Lee’s Summit is a constitutional charter City, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Missouri (“City”).
The Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation Board (“Board”) is empowered with the control of the supervision, improvement, care and custody of parks and recreation activities in the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District (“District”), a political subdivision, wishes to use Harris Park for the Meet Me in the Park event on May 9, 2023.
The City and Board routinely cooperate with other political subdivisions to facilitate events for the citizens.
Section 70.220, RSMo. requires that any contract entered into between a municipality and another political subdivision be approved by the municipality’s governing body.
Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to the City Council approval of an Ordinance approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and the Lee's Summit R-7 School District for the Meet Me in the Park Event and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.

I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and the Lee's Summit R-7 School District for the Meet Me in the Park Event and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
