An Ordinance approving a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) agreement between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri and MJ Aviation Innovations, LLC for an initial period of two years to perform aviation services at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Key Issues:
The Airport has received a request from MJ Aviation Innovations to renew their FBO Agreement to continue performing Aviation Maintenance and Inspection Services at Lee’s Summit Airport.
Proposed City Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance approving a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) agreement between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri and MJ Aviation Innovations, LLC for an initial period of two years to perform aviation services at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) agreement between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri and MJ Aviation Innovations, LLC for an initial period of two years to perform aviation services at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Background:
MJ Aviation Innovations, LLC performs Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection Services and has operated as an FBO on the Airport since 2016. They are requesting a renewal of their FBO Agreement for an additional two years.
Impact/Analysis:
MJ Aviation Innovations, LLC will continue performing aircraft maintenance and inspection services located in Hangar 1. The FBO Agreement will generate $37,800 in annual rent revenue to the airport.

Other Information/Unique Characteristics:
MJ Aviation is currently working with the City to develop its own hangar located at the airport to support its growing business. This development is expected to take place in the Spring of 2023 with completion by the end of 2024.
