An Ordinance amending Section 29-41 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, governing the Public Safety Advisory Board Establishment and Duties.

Key Issues:
Section 29-41, A-2, will be amended to reflect the newly enacted language in Division I, Article V, Boards, Commissions, and Committees of Chapter 2. Administration, of the Code of Ordinances, of the City of Lee's Summit to read, One (1) member of the Council shall serve as liaison, without voting rights, appointed by the Mayor Pro-Tem with the advice and consent of a majority of the Council.

Background:
Ordinance no. 9538 was passed on November 1st, 2022, amending Division I, Article V, Boards, Commissions, and Committees of Chapter 2. Administration, of the Code of Ordinances, of the City of Lee's Summit, by enacting fourteen (14) new sections dealing generally with the rules for the conduct of business by city boards, commissions and committees. Due to the newly enacted sections, the language in Section 29-14 of the Public Safety Advisory Board Established Duties, needs to be updated to match the newly amended sections, specifically Sec. 2-264, Liaisons.
