Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the use of a cooperative contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri and Kranz of Kansas City, to purchase truck equipment, fabrication, and installation services as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
Key Issues:
-The City has a need to contract with outside sources to purchase and install truck beds and various accessories on fleet vehicles
-The City of Kansas City, Missouri issued a bid for the installation, purchase, and fabrication of parts and equipment, the contract was awarded to Kranz of Kansas City.
-The City of Kansas City, Missouri bid included the terms and conditions to allow other public agencies to use the awarded contract
-The contract is for one year with the option for four (4) one year renewals
-Planned expenditures are included by Departments and Fleet as a part of the annual budget process
Background:
This is the primary source for truck utility beds, dump beds, snow plows, etc. for fleet vehicles
Proposed Committee Motion: I move to recommend to City Council for approval of An Ordinance approving the use of a cooperative contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri and Kranz of Kansas City, to purchase truck equipment, fabrication, and installation services as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
