1.                     Summary of Master Plan Update

                     Set aside land for future parks and trails prior to development or as part of the development process

                     Create destination parks, accessible parks, and desired facilities and programming as part of an economic development strategy

                     Create city parks as “entrance” parks into regional parks and trails

                     Create unique facilities and programming in partnership with other agencies and adjacent to existing facilities

                     Connecting parks to each other and activity centers with trails

                     Preserve Lee’s Summit’s high value resources for enjoyment by future generations

                     Maintain existing parks, facilities, and trails to ensure industry standards are met

                     Ensure funding sources and levels are diverse, sustainable, and meet the needs of the community
