An Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement for Project No. 43331883-C for the Water Tower Re-Coatings: Scherer and Woods Chapel Project between the City of Lee's Summit and Worldwide Industries Corp for an increase of $1,071,733.00 for a revised agreement amount of $1,960,115.00 and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Key Issues:
• Pursuant to Ordinance No. 9339 the City and Worldwide Industries Corp, (hereinafter "Contractor") entered into an Agreement for Agreement for Project No. 43331883-C for the Water Tower Re-Coatings: Scherer and Woods Chapel Project, (hereinafter "Base Agreement").
• The City desires to further modify the Base Agreement, as amended, for increased costs associated adding the recoating of the interior of Woods Chapel Tower and additional Surface preparation and containment for the exterior of Scherer Tower (hereinafter 'Changer Order No.1").

FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement for Project No. 43331883-C for the Water Tower Re-Coatings: Scherer and Woods Chapel Project between the City of Lee's Summit and Worldwide Industries Corp for an increase of $1,071,733.00 for a revised agreement amount of $1,960,115.00 and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same. SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement for Project No. 43331883-C for the Water Tower Re-Coatings: Scherer and Woods Chapel Project between the City of Lee's Summit and Worldwide Industries Corp for an increase of $1,071,733.00 for a revised agreement amount of $1,960,115.00 and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same. Background:
This Change Order will adjust the contract price to perform the work. The overall project time will also be extended and the overall cost will increase. In accordance with Section 8.2.1 of the City’s Procurement Policy, Changes (i) exceeding ten percent (10%) of the original contract, (ii) any single change order for an increase of $50,000.00 or more shall be approved by the City Council.
The contract time to account for a number of will be added to allow for completion of this work in the Spring and allow for coordination with the telecom providers which are attached to Scherer Tower. The new substantial completion date will be June 15, 2023.
As presented on Change Order #1, Contractor’s Proposal from 12/9/22 also includes several options for inclusion of a revised scope of work for Scherer Tower exterior into the existing contract by Work Change Directive/Change Order (WCD/CO). The recommended coating system is the Series 646/Series 208 as specified, with Full Blast SSPC#6 surface preparation and the installation of exterior containment system. Other options presented address the potential timing and cost escalations depending on when work is authorized and performed.
