Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the assignment of Agreement No. 2019-032 from KC Dumpster Company, LLC to Summit Transfer, LLC for the operation of the Public Disposal Area for the City and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Key Issues:
- In 2019, the City issued RFP 2019-032 for the operation of the Public Disposal Area and awarded the agreement to KC Dumpster Company, LLC, effective April 5, 2019, in agreement number 2019-032 pursuant to Ordinance 8602.
- In 2022, the City and Summit Transfer, LLC entered into a lease agreement for a solid waste processing facility pursuant to Ordinance 9385.
- KC Dumpster and Summit Transfer have the same ownership.
- In order to more efficiently manage their business operations, KC Dumpster has requested the assignment of Contract 2019-032 to Summit Transfer.
- Before any assignment can become effective, the City must agree to the assignment.
Impact/Analysis:
The approval of this Ordinance will assign the current Public Disposal Area agreement along with the rights and responsibilities from KC Dumpster to Summit Transfer.
