Body
Issue/Request:
At the request of staff, the applicant proposes a street name change for the western segment of SW Mary St to SW Corinthian Ln in the Pergola Park neighborhood. The request stems from the fact that the extension of the western segment of SW Mary St (a curved street) in a future subdivision phase would result in two locations where SW Mary St intersects SW Pergola Park Dr. The City's Street Naming Policy states that, with limited exception when one intersection is close enough to be clearly seen from the other, "[a] street name including suffix shall not intersect another street name more than once." The curvilinear nature of SW Pergola Park Dr wouldn't allow for both intersections with SW Mary St to be visible from one another, thus the need for the street name change.

Included as an attachment is the future Pergola Park, 5th Plat, which shows the subject segment of SW Mary St renamed as SW Corinthian Ln and shows its future extension and intersection with SW Pergola Park Dr. SW Corinthian Ln will continue south of SW Pergola Park Dr in a future phase.

The westernmost segment of SW Mary St (located west of SW Gale Dr) has no lots addressed off of it, thus the street name change has no direct impact on any property owners. The eastern segment of SW Mary St (located east of SW Gale Dr) has 11 lots addressed off of it and is not affected by the proposed street name change. Both City staff and the...
