Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance approving a contract between the City and Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., to provide court security services as needed and ratifying the City Manager’s execution of the same for the City to allow for expanded spending authority.

Key Issues:

-The City issued bid No. 2022-001 for court security services and made an award of a contract to Securitas Security Services USA, Inc.

-At the time the City was spending less than $30,000 per year for court security services, the City spent over $73,000 in FY22

-Per the City's Procurement policy, when the total annual spend on a contract is or anticipated to be $50,000 or more, the contract needs approval of the City Council

Proposed Council Motion:

FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of an Ordinance approving a contract between the City and Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., to provide court security services as needed and ratifying the City Manager’s execution of the same for the City to allow for expanded spending authority.

SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving a contract between the City and Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., to provide court security services as needed and ratifying the City Manager’s execution of the same for the City to allow for expanded spending authority.
