Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the First Amendment to Contract No. 2017-122 authorizing a one-year extension for the purchase of aviation fuel from AvFuel Corporation and authorizing the City Manager to Execute the same for the City.
Key Issues:
-The City has Contract No. 2017-122 Aviation Fuel in place for the purchase of aviation fuel, which is later sold to customers at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport. The current contract is in its 4th and final renewal of the original contract established in 2017. It expires November 8, 2022.
-The new Airport Manager assumed his position on July 1, 2022. Extension of the contract for an additional one-year period will allow for a smooth transition.
-A solicitation will be issued after the beginning of the calendar year for a new contract.
-The Vendor, AvFuel, has agreed to hold their rates for the one-year extension.
-Section 8.1.2 of the City's Procurement policy allows contracts to be extended for up to one-year.
-The spend with AvFuel for the past four (4) fiscal years is: FY22 $1,083,698; FY21 $573,915; FY20 $584,167; FY19 $441,930

I move to recommend to the City Council for approval of An Ordinance approving the First Amendment to Contract No. 2017-122 authorizing a one-year extension for the purchase of aviation fuel from AvFuel Corporation and authorizing the City Manager to Execute the same for the City.
