Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2022-057 to DLS Tire Centers Inc. to purchase tires and services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.


Key Issues:
+The City needs to purchase tires and services for vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances, police cars, public works trucks and equipment, parks trucks and equipment, and water utilities trucks and equipment.
+A bid was issued and notice sent to 12 vendors. Three vendors submitted responsive bids
+The current contract expires July 31, 2022. The approved contract would go into effect August 1, 2022

Background:
The City’s current contract for the purchase of tires and related services expires July 31, 2022. With the assistance of the Project Manager, a bid was issued, and three responsive bids were received.

After reviewing the bids, the Project Manager recommended DLS Tire Centers Inc. for award of contract No. 2022-057. The spend for the past four fiscal years: FY22 $110,176, FY21 $95,312, FY20 $108,233, FY19 $102,236. Departments plan for the expenses each year as a part of the budgeting process.

The proposed contract has an initial term of one-year, with up to four, one-year renewal terms.

Committee Motion: I move to recommend to the City Council for approval an Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2022-057 to DLS Tire Centers Inc. to purchase tires and services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
