An Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 568-323-78 for the Browning Street Extension - Browning St. to Hamblen Rd. Project to Amino Bros. Co., Inc. in the amount of $3,397,845.08 and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
· As directed by the FY22 Capital Improvement Plan and Thoroughfare Master Plan, with recommendation by the License Tax Committee, the City called for the design of extending the roadway of Browning Street to Hamblen Road, thereby providing an alternate route in lieu of Oldham Parkway and improving the access management for existing and future industrial and commercial development (hereinafter "Project No. 568-323-78").
· The total project budget for Project No. 568-323-78 is funded primarily from the License (Excise) Tax but also from the Sewer Construction and Water Construction Funds.
· Public Works Engineering issued an advertisement for bids for the construction of Project No. 568-323-78 on March 14, 2022, guided by local policies and state statutes.
· Amino Bros. Co., Inc. (hereinafter "Contractor") was determined to be the lowest and best bidder by City staff.
· The City desires to enter into an agreement with the Contractor to construct Project No. 568-323-78.
