Title

Presentation: Agreement between the City of Lee's Summit and Brycer, the Compliance Engine.

Body

Issue/Request:

Staff has prepared a presentation on what outcomes are anticipated by entering into this agreement, which is no cost to the City. Although there is no financial cost to the City, staff wants discuss the financial structure, as well as the benefits this agreement provides.

Background:

The MARC Heart of America Fire Chiefs (HOAFC) solicited and selected Brycer, the Compliance Engine, as a third-party records management system for submittal and collection of fire inspection and other life safety reports compiled by third-party vendors.  The information includes items such as annual fire alarm and fire sprinkler inspection reports, and other pertinent life safety data provided by third party vendors.  This data is then made available to the AHJ, in this case the Lee’s Summit Fire Department.  There is no cost to the City for this service.  Payment for the system is charged to the third-party vendor who presumably would pass the expense on to the company as part of their total bill for service.  Typically, this fee would not exceed $50.00 for any one report. The benefit of this system is that is eliminates the time needed for City staff to follow up with businesses to collect these documents. Lee’s Summit is the last HOAFC member to implement this process.
