Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the dual award of Bid No. 2022-047, to purchase equipment rental services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to Bledsoe Equipment, Inc. and The G.W. VanKeppel Co., and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
Key Issues:
? City Departments have the need to rent tools, small equipment, and steel plates for projects around the City.
? The current contract for equipment rental services expires May 19, 2022, it is a dual award contract.
? The City issued Bid No. 2022-047, and three vendors submitted responsive bids. Based on the response to the bid, the project managers recommended a dual award to Bledsoe Equipment, Inc. and The G.W. Vankeppel Co.
Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to City Council for approval an Ordinance approving the dual award of Bid No. 2022-047, to purchase equipment rental services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to Bledsoe Equipment, Inc. and The G.W. VanKeppel Co., and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
Background:
The City needs to rent tools and equipment from time to time for City projects instead of purchasing additional tools and equipment. Multiple departments across the City use this contract to meet their needs.
A dual award contract has been in place for five years. The historical spend for the past five years is: FY22 (YTD) $49,741, FY21 $100,476, FY20 $53,696, FY19 $71,926, and FY18 $70,468.
