Title

An Ordinance approving a contract between the City and Jackson County Electrical Services, Inc., to purchase electrical services and supplies as needed and ratifying the City Manager’s execution of the same for the city.

Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance approving a contract between the City and Jackson County Electrical Services, Inc., to purchase electrical services and supplies as needed and ratifying the City Manager’s execution of the same for the city.

Key Issues:

The City has a need for electrical services from time to time for repairs, maintenance, and new installation of equipment.

Jackson County Electrical Services, Inc. was previously under contract with the City of Lee's Summit for Electrical Services and Supplies until that contract expired January 31, 2022.

The City executed a cooperative agreement, Contract No. 2022-049, with Jackson County Electrical Services, Inc. by piggy backing on a bid awarded by the City of Independence, Missouri.

It was discovered that several departments had small projects scheduled with Jackson County Electrical Services, Inc. that would put the annual spend over $50,000.00.

Section 4 of the Procurement Policy states that any contract with an actual or anticipated annual spend of more than $50,000.00 needs City Council approval.

Proposed Council Committee Motion:  I move to recommend to the City Council for approval an Ordinance approving a contract between the City and Jackson County Electrical Services, Inc., to purchase electrical services and supplies as needed and ratifying the City Manager’s execution of the same for the city.
