At the meeting of the Committee on February 28, 2022 the Committee requested staff to draft a new ordinance providing for the content of the application for membership on a City board, committee or commission. The ordinance attached simply restates the content of the online application form. However it does make certain additions as requested by the Committee. Specifically, it requests information related to current service on any Lee's Summit board or commission along with the expiration of the current term. Further, it requests information on past service on Lee's Summit boards and commissions and service in any other community. Finally, this ordinance includes a provision requiring that the Council receive the application of any person forwarded for appointment prior to consideration. This ordinance would codify the content of the application and require that the application for appointment be forwarded to the City Council prior to consideration of the appointment.
