Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the award of RFP No. 2022-038, for the purchase of commercial driver's license training services on an as needed basis, to Diversified Logistics Training Solutions (DLTS), for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.

Key Issues:
· Multiple departments require employees to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) as a job requirement to operate equipment with GVWR over 26,001 pounds.
· Beginning February 7, 2022, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is imposing additional requirements for entry-level drivers.
· Theory and behind the wheel curricula must cover all topics outlined in 49 CFR, Part 380, appendices A through E.
· Entry level drivers must obtain applicable training from a provider listed on the Training Provider Registry, prior to taking a relevant behind the wheel skills or knowledge test.
· Instructors must meet the requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, subtitle B, Chapter III, Subchapter B, Part 308.605.

Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to City Council approval of an Ordinance approving the award of RFP No. 2022-038, for the purchase of commercial driver's license training services on an as needed basis, to Diversified Logistics Training Solutions (DLTS), for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
