Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2022-004 to JBT Lektro Inc. for the purchase of one (1) new 2021 Lektro AP8750CX-AL Aircraft Tug for the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport in the amount of $95,240.00, and authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement in the form of a purchase order for the same.
Key Issues:
· The Airport’s Aircraft tug was due for replacement in FY22 as part of the Vehicle and Equipment Replacement Program, VERP.
· This equipment will be funded out of the VERP.
· The Aircraft tug will be upgraded to enable Airport staff to store larger Aircraft in Hangar 1, which the current tug cannot handle, as well as move larger business jet aircraft up to 85,000 lbs.
· As a result of the upgrade, the Airport budgeted an increased payment to the VERP in FY22 with revenues from fuel sales, hangar rental, ground leases, and fees for the use of airport equipment.
· A bid was issued for the purchase of the tug and four bids were received.
· Only one of the four bids received met the minimum requirements.

I move to recommend to the City Council approval of an Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2022-004 to JBT Lektro Inc. for the purchase of one (1) new 2021 Lektro AP8750CX-AL Aircraft Tug for the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport in the amount of $95,240.00, and authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement in the form of a purchase order for the same.
