Title

Issue/Request:

The Staff Interim Budget Team is continuing to request amendments to true-up our FY22 budget as needed.

Key Issues:

General Fund (Public Works Engineering) and Fleet Operations Fund:

1. A vehicle approved in FY22 for PW Engineering had the wrong vehicle specification paperwork submitted with the request.  The error resulted in an $4,378 cost difference.  The department is NOT asking for additional funds to cover this cost. They will manage their expenditures to find opportunity to save elsewhere to cover difference; however, because vehicles are actually purchased from Fleet Operations Fund we must amend budget to allow them to transfer the money Fleet Operations.  These dollars will not show on the General Fund part of the amendment as Council is not giving PW Engineering any new authorization to spend and will only show on Fleet Operations portion of amendment.

2. A vehicle that had been approved in the prior year's budget (FY21) was unable to be purchased before the end of fiscal year due to supply chain issues; therefore, we need to re-budget for that vehicle now in FY22.

Entitlement Fund:

1. The administrative fee for this fund was entered twice.  In the original ordinance the error was included in the total, but not in the associated documentation. This amendment clarifies that.

Proposed Committee Motion:

I move to recommend to City Council for approval an Ordinance approving Amendment No. 3 to the Budget for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2022, as adopted by Ordinance No. 9184 and Ordinance No. 9187, by amending the authorized expenditures for the General Fund, the Entitlement Fund, and the Fleet Operations Fund for the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
