Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between Mid-America Regional Council and Life-Assist, Inc., to purchase medical supplies and equipment as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.

Key Issues:

-The current cooperative contract to purchase medical supplies and equipment is expiring

-The contract is used by the Fire department to acquire medical supplies and small equipment for use in ambulances and fire trucks

-The City of Lee’s Summit is a member of the Mid-America Regional Council Emergency Response (MARCER) team that reviews and makes recommendations to MARC

Proposed Committee Motion:

I move to recommend to City Council for approval an Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between Mid-America Regional Council and Life-Assist, Inc., to purchase medical supplies and equipment as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.

Background:

The City is using a cooperative contract, the contract is expiring soon

MARC issued a bid and awarded a contract for the needed items and service to Life-Assist Inc

This will be the City’s first purchasing products from Life-Assist Inc.

Impact/Analysis:

Use of this contract would be based on the annual appropriations approved by the City Council.
