Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance authorizing the execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Lee's Summit and the Junior College District of Metropolitan Kansas City, Missouri a/k/a Metropolitan Community College for use of its Precision Driving Center.

Key Issues:

The City of Lee’s Summit (“City”) provides training to all City police officers on a regular basis to maintain proficiency in emergency response driving and emphasize the importance of safe driving techniques.

The Junior College District of Metropolitan Kansas City, Missouri, more commonly known as Metropolitan Community College (“MCC”), is a public community college district that owns and maintains the Precision Driving Center (“PDC”) at the MCC-Blue River campus.  MCC has agreed to allow the Lee’s Summit Police Department use of the PDC for the express purpose of providing driver training to Lee’s Summit police officers.

This intergovernmental agreement sets forth the terms for using the course for the City’s August and September of 2021 training sessions.
