Issue/Request:
An Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 78831883-C for the South Terminal Water Tank Rehabilitation Project to DN Tanks, LLC in the amount of $162,375, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
• As part of the FY22 CIP, the South Terminal Water Tank Rehabilitation Project includes cleaning, concrete patching, and coating the exterior water tank with a non-cementitious 100% acrylic coating (hereinafter "Project No. 78831883-C").
• The total project budget for Project No. 78831883-C is funded from the Water Equipment Replacement Program.
• Water Utilities issued an advertisement for bids for the construction of Project No. 78831883-C on February 18, 2021, in accordance with local policies and state statutes.
• DN Tanks, LLC (hereinafter "Contractor") was evaluated to be a responsive bidder by City staff.
• The City desires to enter into an agreement with the Contractor to construct Project No. 78831883-C.
Proposed City Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 78831883-C for the South Terminal Water Tank Rehabilitation Project to DN Tanks, LLC in the amount of $162,375, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 78831883-C for the South Terminal Water Tank Rehabilitation Project to DN Tanks, LLC in the amount of $162,375, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Background:
The South Terminal Water Tank was constructed in 2001 and is now due for repair and a new coating. The exterior of this tank will be painted after having the surface blasted and repaired. The tank will not be out of service during the project.
Impact/Analysis:
Water Utilities advertised for bids for Project No. 78831883-C on February 18, 2021. Potential bidders were notified through QuestCDN and on the City website. One (1) responsive bid was received by the March 16, 2021 , bid opening date. City staff evaluated the bid and DN Tanks, LLC was determined to be a responsive bidder.

Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 78831883-C for the South Terminal Water Tank Rehabilitation Project to DN Tanks, LLC in the amount of $162,375, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.

Committee Recommendation: The Public Works Committee voted unanimously 3-0 (Councilmember Edson "Absent"), to recommend to City Council approval of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 78831883-C for the South Terminal Water Tank Rehabilitation Project to DN Tanks, LLC in the amount of $162,375, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
