Issue/Request:
A Resolution amending Resolution 21-01 to amend dates and time frames in Section three (3) and section six (6) to the first working meeting of the Lee's Summit Commission for Diversity and Inclusion which was June 3, 2021.
Key Issues:
-The first meeting of the Lee’s Summit Commission for Diversity and Inclusion was a training session on April 15, 2021. Their work did not begin until their second meeting on June 3, 2021.
-Section 6 of Resolution 21-01 includes requirements that must be met six (6) months, and twelve (12) months, after the first meeting of the Commission.
-Section 3 of Resolution 21-01 states the Commission shall continue to and until a date eighteen (18) months after adoption of Resolution 21-01.
-It is the desire of the Commission for Diversity and Inclusion, by a unanimous 11-0 vote (Commissioners Beasley, Harding, Ivy and Meyer “Absent”), to amend Sections 3 and 6 of Resolution 21-01 to the Commissions first working meeting which was June 3, 2021.
Proposed City Council Motion:
I move to approve Resolution No. 21-01 entitled: A Resolution amending Resolution 21-01 to amend dates and time frames in Section three (3) and section six (6) to the first working meeting of the Lee's Summit Commission for Diversity and Inclusion which was June 3, 2021.
