Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and Turn-Key Mobile, Inc., to purchase law enforcement vehicle equipment as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
Key Issues:
-The City has a need to purchase computers and network technology equipment for use in police vehicles.
-The current cooperative contract to purchase law enforcement vehicle equipment from Turn-Key Mobile has expired.
-Items included in the bid are specific add-ons to police vehicles purchased by the City, such as light bars, in-car consoles, and other specialize equipment.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office awarded the bid to Turn-Key Mobile, Inc.
-The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office allows other public agencies to piggyback on their contracts
-Under the Procurement Policy 6.1 Cooperative Purchasing - the City can piggyback on public agency contracts when allowed by the contract
Proposed Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of an Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and Turn-Key Mobile, Inc., to purchase law enforcement vehicle equipment as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and Turn-Key Mobile, Inc., to purchase law enforcement vehicle equipment as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
