An Ordinance approving Change Order No. 3 to the contract with Wiedenmann, Inc. for the FY20 Watermain Replacement project, an increase of $83,669.03 for a revised contract price of $2,611,662.27.

Key Issues:

•                     Contract quantities are being adjusted to match the actual quantities installed.

•                     In some locations, watermains identified to be replaced by pipe bursting methods were required to be trench in due to the proximity of other utilities.

Proposed City Council Motion:

FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 3 to the contract with Wiedenmann, Inc. for the FY20 Watermain Replacement project, an increase of $83,669.03 for a revised contract price of $2,611,662.27.

SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 3 to the contract with Wiedenmann, Inc. for the FY20 Watermain Replacement project, an increase of $83,669.03 for a revised contract price of $2,611,662.27.

Background:

This water main replacement entails performing work in the following areas: Summit Point Condos on NE Chipman Road, NE Westwind Lane, SW Blue Parkway, SE Melody Lane, SE 5^th Terrace, SE Bayberry Lane, SE Hampton Street, SE Westwind Drive, SE 7^th Terrace, SE 7^th Place, SE Brentwood Drive, SE 3^rd Terrace, SE Circleview Drive, SE Colony Drive, SE Wingate Street, SE 4^th Street, SE 4^th Terrace, SE 5^th Street, and SE Claremont Street.

The total project budget is $3,386,000 funded from the Water Construction Fund.  The revised contract amount, including this Change Order, falls well below the project budget.
