Title

An Ordinance approving the execution of the funding/approval agreement by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to correct an error in HUD’s initial formula allocation for fiscal year 2020.

(NOTE:  First reading by Council on March 16, 2020.  Passed by unanimous vote.)

Body

Key Issues:

In August of 1994, the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri (“City”) was designated as an Entitlement Community eligible to receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In December 2020, the City was notified of an error in HUD’s initial formula to calculate the allocations for fiscal year 2020-21, resulting in $56 less dollars for the 2020-21 program year. In order to not impact the awards of subrecipients, the $56 was reduced from the City's program administration allocation. Due to this error, the City is required to make an administrative amendment within the 2020-21 Annual Action Plan to adjust for this error. This amendment was included within the second Substantial Amendment to the 2020-21 Annual Action Plan.
