Title

An Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Capital Electric Line Builders, Inc. for the Bailey and Hamblen Signal project, an increase of $26,395.60 for a revised contract price of $372,220.10. (PWC 2-1-21)

Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Capital Electric Line Builders, Inc. for the Bailey and Hamblen Signal project, an increase of $26,395.60 for a revised contract price of $372,220.10.

Key Issues:

Final contract quantities are being adjusted to match the final quantities constructed.

Proposed Council Motion:

FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Capital Electric Line Builders, Inc. for the Bailey and Hamblen Signal project, an increase of $26,395.60 for a revised contract price of $372,220.10.

SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Capital Electric Line Builders, Inc. for the Bailey and Hamblen Signal project, an increase of $26,395.60 for a revised contract price of $372,220.10.

Background:

Additional blending of the waste material along the newly constructed sidewalks was required to provide a maintainable surface.  This resulted in a significant overrun of sod.  The curb and gutter sections adjacent to the ADA ramps were inadvertently left off the plan quantities.  This change simply adds this section of curb into the contract quantities.
